Tamar Daffodils (2) 16" x 12" (40cm x 30cm)
watercolour and gouache
daffodils growing wild in the Tamar valley, near his home in Calstock, by
artist Michael
Sanders "These flowers mean that spring is on the way. They grow in
some profusion all along the valley, and it really lifts the spirits to
see a blaze of colour hanging above the river in the sun. This image was
painted as a try-out for a larger oil painting. I often use watercolour,
gouache or acrylic in order to try out compositions for my oil
paintings, as those mediums dry quicker". |
