Quick and Clever Acrylics published April 2008 in hard back and soft back; colour throughout.     
A good practical introduction to the art of painting with acrylics. The book covers watercolour wet in wet transparent techniques, layer on layer and glazing, and heavy oil paint-style impasto and knife painting techniques. This book enables the beginner to progress from simple exercises to more complex techniques, building on what has been learned in the previous section.Step by step projects are easy to follow and enable you to gain confidence with each new painting as you practice.                                                              

Quick and Clever Drawing. To be published early 2009, a book aimed at those who believe that they can't draw!
This book takes the reader through the whole range of drawing equipment, from the basic pencil to watercolour crayons. Easy to follow techniques are followed by structured step by step projects that enable you to develop a whole range of drawing skills both in monochrome and full colour. Working through the practice techniques and projects will give the reader a good grounding in essential drawing skills in a variety of media.

Landscapes in Oils Covering all the working methods needed to produce traditional oils landscapes, this book takes you through colour theory, aerial perspective, planning and composition, and then enables you to become familiar with the techniques via step by step projects. By working through these projects the beginner quickly learns how to compose, plan, and paint a series of oils landscapes to be proud of.                               

Oil-Painting Tips and Techniques Is a book that covers every technique available to the oil painter, from the 'Old Master' underpainting - overpainting and glazing methods, to the impasto impressionist techniques. Everything is described and illustrated, enabling the reader to choose a range of working methods to suit their intention. Step by step projects show a range of techniques, starting with simple methods and building to more complex ones. Pages of useful information on stretching canvas, priming boards, colour mixing, composition, working from sketches and photos, enable artists of all abilities to add to their repertoire and knowledge.

Michael Sanders has contributed to several art magazines over the past few years, including the following:

Paint

Paint is the newsletter of the SAA. Its aim is to inform, encourage and inspire. Michael Sanders was President of  SAA - the society for all artists until the end of 2005.

Michael Sanders was also an SAA Advisory Panellist from almost the first issue of Paint, and regularly wrote illustrated articles to demonstrate artistic techniques. Paint is published in full colour every two months, and is free to all SAA members.

The Step by Step Art Course

The Step by Step Art Course is a weekly magazine, first issued in 2001, and is occasionally reissued. Michael contributed several of the fully illustrated step-by-step articles in this.

The Artist and Illustrators Magazine

The Artist and Illustrators Magazine is a monthly magazine. Michael occasionally publishes fully illustrated step-by-step articles in this.  He also appears regularly at most of the major international art fairs and art materials shows, demonstrating painting and drawing techniques for top art material manufacturer Winsor and Newton.
