Classes in Devon and Cornwall with Michael Sanders

Michael Sanders gives regular private classes at Peter Tavy Village Hall (near Tavistock, West Devon) in watercolours on Monday mornings, and in oils/acrylics on Wednesday afternoons, and classes in painting and drawing techniques at Belstone Village Hall near Okehampton on Thursday afternoons, and Whitchurch Parish Hall in Tavistock on Friday afternoons. He also teaches at Ashtorre Community Centre, Saltash (South East Cornwall) on Monday afternoons and Tuesday mornings. These classes must be booked via Cornwall College (see below).

Watercolours at Peter Tavy Village Hall, starting Mon, 4 January 2010
A friendly group, with plenty of one-to-one tuition and regular demonstrations. Everyone is encouraged to develop their own style, based on traditional watercolour techniques. Projects include subjects such as trees, water, figures, buildings, flowers, still life, and working from reference material and imagination. Ideally suited for beginners or those wishing to expand their skills. Includes some mixed media (line and wash, pastels, etc in combination with watercolour).
Mondays 9-30 to 12-30: Beginners Welcome.
₤70 for 9 sessions, (27 hours)

Oils and acrylics at Peter Tavy Village Hall, starting Wed, 6 January 2010
This class includes practical tuition on traditional techniques suitable for beginners, with the emphasis on developing a personal style.  Using mainly water mixable oils, which are odourless and non-toxic, Michael will teach you many of the old master techniques and encourage you to develop your favourite methods. Suitable for beginners and those with no previous oil painting experience. Try it, it's easier than you think!  

Wednesdays 1-00 to 4-00pm : Beginners welcome. 
£70 for 9 sessions, (27 hours)

     Painting & drawing at The Village Hall, Belstone, Near Okehampton, starting Thursday 7 January 2010
A friendly group, where you will be able to develop your own style and learn many useful techniques. Using any water-based medium, and simple drawing equipment, this class is suitable for both improvers and absolute beginners.
Thursdays 2.00pm to 5.00pm. ₤70 for 9 sessions, (27 hours)

Beginners Watercolour at Whitchurch Parish Hall, Tavistock, starting Friday 8 January 2010 2 - 4 pm. 8 sessions (16 hours) £48.

Ideal for anyone who wants to try some art, but who needs encouragement to get going. If you want to paint but don't know where to begin, this is for you! Suitable for beginners and improvers.

Oil and Acrylics at Ashtorre, Saltash, starting 4 January 2010  
Situated in a beautiful elevated position beside the river Tamar, this friendly group explores individual preferences in subject matter, and develops 'real' painting and drawing skills. Emphasis is on composition, colour, planning and traditional oil painting techniques, as well as the chance to explore more adventurous styles. Everyone is encouraged to work at their own pace, and bring their own ideas to the class . You will receive plenty of one-to-one tuition. 
Mondays 2.00pm to 4.00pm,  and Tuesdays  10.00am to 12.00 pm.
