A snowy lane on Dartmoor, by artist Michael Sanders "The
little painting here was done out on site, in freezing conditions. I was
seated on a folding stool, and wore a heavy coat, scarf and gloves.
After half an hour, I could barely move! When I did move I thought
'enough is enough' and trudged back half a mile to the car. My intention
was to finish this painting later, but, when I got home I realised that
it needed nothing else. Often, the secret is knowing when a painting's
finished". This makes a good demonstration to art groups when
painted large scale. |
